A Turn of Events
By Patricia Thomas Rating: PG Pairing: Surprise! Author’s Note: I decided to change things up a bit from all the Ryan/Colin and Jeff/Brad stuff that’s floating around (not that I don’t like it, I always love a good R/C or J/B story). I wrote this in about 10, 15 minutes. Summary: A dialogue between two people reveals secrets… “Do you really think this is a good idea?” “Why?” “I mean…won’t he get hurt?” “If he finds out.” “Yeah, if. I still feel really bad. He’s my best friend.” “Look, you want me. I want you. As long as he doesn’t find out, we can have as much fun as we want.” “If I wasn’t so nervous right now, I’d think you were coming onto me.” “Why are you nervous? And yes, I’m coming onto you. I want you.” “I’ve got that show tonight.” “Shit. Do you absolutely have to go?” “Yeah. They’re depending on me.” “Well, let’s have a little fun before I have to go.” “Mmm, that doesn’t sound bad. Not bad at all.” “Damn. You’re good.” “Well, I try.” “I gotta get to the show.” “How much time do you have?” “Half an hour.” “Quickie before you head off?” “Nah, I just…I just gotta go. I’ll see you after, okay?” “Oh crap, that’s right. We’re having dinner with him, aren’t we?” “Yeah, we are. You know…he loves you.” “I know, I know. And I love him, too. But you…” “I’m just the sex.” “No, no, that’s not it at all. Actually, I wanted to talk to you about something.” “What is it?” “I think I’m falling for you.” “What? Dammit, this was just supposed to be a fling. A quick thing for sex. We promised we wouldn’t get attached. Hell, I’m not falling for you!” “You’re…you’re not?” “No. You’re just a great roll in the sack for me.” “How could you say that? I thought you were a nice guy, but damn, I was wrong.” “I am a nice guy, it’s just we promised that it wouldn’t go past that! I mean…I love him. I wouldn’t do anything to hurt him. I’m risking my best friendship over meaningless sex! What the hell is going on with me?” “Look, if that’s all it is to you, we should stop this.” “You know what, I think that’s a good idea.” “Fine.” “Fine!” “Damn. I thought we just broke up.” “Apparently we didn’t. That’s the third time we’ve done it today.” “I can’t stay away from you.” “Mmm.” “You like that?” “Oh…yes. You know exactly what I like.” “Obviously, you’re getting horny.” “How can you tell?” “You’re panting. You’re getting short of breath.” “So are you.” “Forget the damn show.” “I’m leaving.” “Leaving?” “You.” “I thought you meant the room.” “No. I just can’t do this to Ryan. He’s too precious to me.” “Colin, don’t…” “Look, Pat, this has been…incredible. The most mind-blowing sex of my entire life. But I care too much about Ryan.” “Are you sure?” “Yes.” “Goodbye, Colin.” “Goodbye, Pat.” |
