Title: Short and Bittersweet Disclaimer: Nope, not mine, never were, never will be, no matter how much I hope, wish, or dream. And this never happened, either. Not that I've been notified of, anyway. Rating: G "So, ummmm...how's it working out for the two of you?" Ryan fidgeted with his napkin, unable to look at the other man directly. "It's going very well, actually. Thanks for asking." Colin responded quietly, a small smile on his lips as he thought of his partner. "And for you and your wife? Good, too?" Ryan sighed. "Yeah, it is. We've gotten used to each other again, and the counselling helped a LOT. I'd highly recommend it." Colin now smiled wryly. "Thanks for the advice, but, like I said, it's going well." He chuckled as he continued. "We're more in synch with each other every day, we're never tired of each other, AND we're not constantly under a microscope, which takes away a lot of the pressure that you and I experienced. This is much calmer, I guess you could say." He glanced out the windown, then pulled out his wallet, put a few dollars down, and stood up. Ryan added his own chuckle as he, too, stood. "You mean, not as exciting?" Colin raised his eyebrows, smirking. "You'd like me to say that, wouldn't you?" He shook his head. "Catch ya later, eh?" Still smiling, he walked out the door of the cafe and got into the car Brad had pulled up in a few minutes earlier. He leaned over, and Ryan watched through the window as they shared a gentle kiss before driving off. "Yeah, I would have liked you to say that," he said softly as he, too, left the cafe. finis |
