By Patricia Thomas Rating: PG-13 for lots of cursing by our favorite Canadian. Author's Note: Because you know you can't get ENOUGH WL FANFIC! WHOO! “Hey, do you think that I could steal a few minutes of your time after the taping, Colin?” He was so nervous. How was he ever going to admit this to Colin? He’d kept it inside so long, but it was bursting to get out. He knew he had to let this out quickly. “Of course.” All throughout the taping, he couldn’t think straight between games. He was lucky that improv was such a release for him, that he could forget everything about his situation. After two hours and four excruciating games of Hoedown, the taping was finally over. He pulled Colin into his dressing room and closed the door. “What is it?” Colin pulled up a chair across from his friend. “Look, Colin, this is…” He sighed. He was so nervous. “This is hard for me to admit…but…I have feelings for someone…I probably shouldn’t be having feelings for.” “Well…who is it?” Colin stared at him with his loving brown eyes. Oh man, this was going to be harder than he thought. “I should just come out and say it…look, it’s…I have feelings for Ryan.” He waited. Impatiently. Colin was just staring at him. He knew that Colin was having a hard time processing all of this. “Ryan? You mean…Ryan?” “Yeah. Ryan. Look, I’m not going to say anything to him. I can’t…I can’t because of…well, you know.” “Yeah, yeah. Pat. I understand.” He paused. “Pat? Colin, you don’t know…” He looked at his friend in shock. Everyone else knew…and Colin was Ryan’s best friend…how could he not know? “What?” The balding man sounded worried. He leaned forward in his chair. “What do you mean?” “I mean…Ryan’s together with Drew. You didn’t know?” “No…I…” Colin sat back in his chair and half-sighed, half-laughed. “You know, that rat bastard had me tricked.” “Tricked?” “I shouldn’t have believed him. Dammit, how could I have been so STUPID?” Colin got up and violently shoved his chair to the floor. “Why didn’t anyone bother to TELL ME? I’m his BEST FRIEND! I should’ve KNOWN!” He then collapsed on the couch and started to sob. His body shook and heaved. He didn’t know what to do. He had never seen Colin act like this. What was so wrong with Ryan being together with Drew? “Colin, I…” “No, it’s okay. I was the one who believed him when he told me he loved me. He told me that I was the only one for him, and that he’d be divorcing Pat soon enough, because, oh, he loved me so much, and I meant so much to him. I’m so FUCKING STUPID!” “Colin! Colin, man, calm down…” “What the hell do you know? You know what, fuck it. Tell him. Tell him how much you love him so you can get your heart stomped on too. I’m in my fucking forties, I shouldn’t be in such a…a high school situation.” “Listen, man, it’s…it’s gonna be okay. I’m not going to tell him. Not after this. I thought Drew was his only one, but if he’s going to do something like that…he doesn’t deserve anyone. Drew has to know.” “You’re right. You know, you’re…you’re so right. Thank you, Greg.” “No problem.” The two men stared at each other for a minute before Colin got up from the couch. “Well, we, uh, better get going if we’re going to ruin Ryan’s life.” Colin smiled at Greg. They both tried to leave the room at the same time, leaving them standing close to one another. They looked into each other’s eyes. Colin placed a hand on Greg’s shoulder. “Greg…” “Yes.” Lips gently touched. Arms were wrapped around waists. Body pressed against body. Tongues intertwined…they forgot all about Ryan. Greg and Colin both thought that they wanted something else, but all they ended up needing was each other…and they couldn’t get enough. THE END |
