He watches game after game. He sees how they interact, all the little smiles and touches exchanged. How different Ryan is around Colin. Why couldn't he have that with him? Drew likes to think that it's only because he isn't out there with Ryan, but he knows that's not true. He knows Ryan loves Colin because Colin worships him, because he knows Colin needs him. Drew couldn't be like that. He tried. He had told Ry how much he admired his talent, which was true, and then bit the bullet and poured his heart out. He told him how much he loved him, and how he was falling apart becaue he wasn't with him, which wasn't true. Drew loved Ryan, yes, but he could cope. Ryan had gotten angry.
