His dream of celebrating New Year's Eve in New York still hadn't come true, but Chip wasn't really mad about it. The holiday had put him and the rest of his fellow comedians in Miami for a benefit show and even though the city was packed with clubs and parties, the group had headed for the beach to relax and see fireworks.

The car ride over was a little more difficult than the whole benefit show had been.

"Between you and Wayne, I'm not sure who's worse," Drew told Jeff, exasperated. The two had been bickering since they had gotten into the car and were still going strong twenty minutes later.

"Whose worse anyway!" Jeff exclaimed, laughing as he high-fived Wayne.

"What have I gotten myself into?" Ryan groaned, putting his head in his hands.

Colin patted him on the back, grinning, "Babysitting. Between Wayne, Jeff, and Chip, we've been reduced from comedians to their parents."

"Hey, I'm only eight years younger than you, grandpa," Chip replied sarcastically. Greg and Brad snickered from beside him, glancing at Colin for a reaction.

Colin looked over at Chip, raising an eyebrow, but only getting a dazzling smile in return.

"Do I even want to get involved in this?" Brad asked, looking between the two.

Jeff laughed, "At least you get a break from hearing Wayne and I arguing."

"Drive faster, Drew. The faster we get there, the faster we can get drunk," Chip called, sharing a wary look with Colin, who was trying to reach for him across the backseat. "Thank goodness for van and three rows of seats."

They arrived at a secluded park within ten minutes and they unpacked their stuff, making sure to disguise their liquor. No one was sure whether or not it was legal to drink in public and not one of them thought about it enough to look it up Florida's laws.

The minute they were out of the car, Colin chased after Chip, who was smart enough to dart around a picnic bench, making Colin chase him around it for a good ten minutes.

"Brad, could you please get your boyfriend and kill him for me?" Colin asked, smiling sweetly.

Brad looked over at them, shrugging, "You two are on your own. I'm not getting involved."

The two eventually calmed down and joined the others at the table, even though they sat on opposite ends.

"Forget about babysitting Wayne and Jeff. Now we have to look after Colin and Chip," Ryan deadpanned, standing up to help Drew set up a barbeque. As he walked by Colin and noticed the older man was scowling at him, he leaned down and kissed him, earning a smile in return.

"You know, it's a good thing this park is so secluded," Greg commented, glancing over at Brad and Chip, who were cuddled up to each other, completely tuning out anyone around them.

Brad flipped Greg off without looking up from Chip and moved eve closer to his boyfriend, "Ignore them. Even if this wasn't a public park, there would still be no stopping us."

Chip grinned and leaned back into Brad's embrace, watching the setting sun over the nearby ocean. He may not have been able to go to New York, but it was still great to be with his friends and see a beautiful sight he didn't usually have time to see.

Dinner was served and after a few hours of drinks and talking, it was only five minutes away from the New Year.

Brad led Chip away to a small hill that overlooked the city where the fireworks would be set off. They didn't have to wait long until the first one was set up, bathing the sky in a reddish color.

Brad turned to Chip and smiled, placing a finger under his chin and lifting his head so their eyes met, "Happy New Year."

Chip barely had time to register the whispered words before Brad's lips met his own, the loud popping of the fireworks pushed into the background of his mind.
